CAVES

It is a place to call Alanya a city of caves. You can discover the mysterious world of land and sea caves in Alanya. You can witness the formation of new stalactites and stalagmites as you wander through the magical world of stalactites and stalagmites formed over tens of thousands of years in land caves that existed millions of years ago. This witnessing will drag you into a fantastic movie with the decor created by the lighting inside the cave. Kadıini Cave, which is not open to visitors yet, is the first home of people in Alanya 20 thousand years ago. The sea caves under the peninsula are also home to legends from ancient times.

Damlatas Cave
There is a 50-meter passage at the entrance of the cave on the west coast of the historical peninsula. After the passage with a height of 15 meters, a cylindrical space is reached. From here, it goes down to the bottom of the cave. The stalactites and stalagmites of the cave, which is in the semi-chrystalline limestone, were formed in 15 thousand years. In addition to its fascinating beauty, the cave is also famous for its air that is good for asthma patients. The atmosphere of the cave does not change in summer or winter; temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, humidity is 95 percent, constant pressure is 760 mm.

Dim Cave
It is 12 kilometers east of Alanya, on the slope of the 1,649 meter high Cebel-i Reis mountain. the cave is 232 meters above sea level. It is the second largest cave in Turkey opened to visitors. It is estimated to be 1 million years old. One of the arms of the cave, which proceeds in the mountain from two separate branches, is 50 meters and the other is 360 meters. There is a small lake at the bottom of the cave, which consists of stalactites and stalagmites. The atmosphere inside the cave, which can be climbed up and down the stairs, is reminiscent of fantastic movie scenes.

Pirates Cave
It is a sea cave under the historical peninsula. You can go by boat. It has a mouth of 10 meters wide and 6 meters high. It is possible to enter the cave with small boats. There is a secret path leading to the castle from inside the cave. The image of the rocks at the bottom of the sea adds a different mystery to the cave.

Lovers' Cave
It is a 75 meter long cave with two entrances on the slope of the peninsula. After the boat approaches the rocks, it is possible to climb the rocks. Because of the low ceiling, you can walk in the cave by bending down. The mouth of the cave on the Damlataş side is 8 meters above the sea level and you can jump into the sea from here.

Phosphorous Cave
It is a sea cave on the slope of the peninsula on the Damlataş side. Small boats can enter the cave. Due to the geological structure of the cave, the floor shines like phosphor at night due to the reflection of the moonlight. The glow is also noticeable during the daytime. Excursion boats make short swimming breaks in front of the cave.
