It was built as a caravanserai on an area of 2 thousand square meters with cut large stones in 1231 on the plain next to Alara Castle. The signatures of stone masters are on the walls. The work, which has a rectangular structure, is 38 x 50 m. in size. Except for the eastern façade leaning against the mountain, the other façade was built of cut stones. It is possible to see stonemason marks on the facades built of cut stone. There are dendans made of rubble stone on the upper parts of the walls of the building.
Alara Han represents the concentric plan among the Anatolian Seljuk Hans. The middle part of the concentric plan is reserved for the guests staying at the inn. In the interior, there is a corridor in the center and rooms arranged in an iwan pattern on the two long sides of the corridor. In Alara Inn, the accommodation places for passengers and animals are separate. There are windows on the walls of the places where the passengers stay and the iwans where they sit. There is a mosque and a fountain inside the building. It is quite dark inside the inn. Lighting is provided by narrow and long windows on the outer walls. The restored work is open to visitors today and is also used as a restaurant.
